My travel style
Living among the people of a culture is my thing. I love to shop at the local cheese/charcuterie shops, frequent farmer's markets and learn how to cook the region's food. I’m a fan and advocate for getting around a city using local transit (i.e. Velib, scooters or walking). I love to discover new restaurants and pair food with great local wines. I enjoy luxury and also small unique places with charm.
Recently returned from:
- Falling in love again with my husband at a magical wedding at Castiglion del Bosco in Montalcino, Italy.
- Relaxing on the beach at the Mauna Kea Resort.
- Eating my way through the Pintxos bars in San Sebastian, Spain.
- Golfing at Cabot Cliffs and Cabot Links in beautiful Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.
Dreaming of...
- A safari in South Africa and finding my Cape Town penpal from 40 years ago.
- Seeing the Sea Turtles in Tortuguero, Costa Rica.
- Exploring glaciers at the very tip of Chile.
- Living in France or Spain for a month.
What's one thing you can't travel without?
My compact, mini-sized, carry-on suitcase (I travel light!).
Two truths, one lie:
- I used my twin sister's Canadian passport one time to travel to and from Europe when mine had expired.
- I had a free Paris apartment for ten summers (in my 20s and 30s) and spent two to four weeks each summer discovering the city.
- I forgot my Green Card once while traveling to Mexico, and was detained at the border for four hours and then had to pay a $250 fine once back in the U.S.
