About
Always on the go, and an advocate for spontaneity – I typically don't know where I'm going until the day before. I'll try any experience once. I’m a full-time pharmacist and marketer, and part-time journalist.
Home airports
Lately it's been LAX and JFK but who knows what's next.
My travel style
I love traveling off-the-beaten path, backpacking and adventures for the active – like hiking active volcanoes. I'm most discerning about my food, and I like to eat well while traveling. I prefer meeting with locals and learning about the culture through cooking classes, supporting artisans and other immersive experiences, especially with an eye for sustainability. If there's a unique experience specific to that country, you bet I'm doing it... Safari in Tanzania, hot air balloon in Cappadocia, hiking the Fuego volcano in Guatemala? So there.
Recently returned from:
- Active volcano hiking in Guatemala.
- Eating mole in Oaxaca.
- Hotel and pool hopping in Miami.
- Enjoying the slow life in Sayulita, a small hippie town in Mexico.
Dreaming of...
- India until I can't eat any more chaat.
- Jordan – because Petra.
- Glamping in Morocco.
- Brazil for Carnival.
What's one thing you can't travel without?
My protective eye necklace.
Two truths, one lie:
- I got locked in a bathroom in Italy and I had to call the police.
- I was a pub crawl tour guide in Spain.
- I've been attacked by a monkey in Thailand.
